Enrich! Enriquecer!
Quinteto Latino brings a deeply personal style and unique focus to the concert hall, highlighting under-performed masterpieces of Latin American and Caribbean origin. Here are two examples of formal recital programs drawn from our ever-expanding repertoire:
AIRES TROPICALES
Vigorous rhythm and sumptuous melody blow in from the tropics in this recital of music from Cuba, Mexico, and Argentina. Bask in the warmth of Paquito D'Rivera's jazz-inflected Afro-Caribbean hybrids; enjoy the rich tapestry of folksongs and tales woven by Carmen Meléndez Romero; breathe deeply the incomparable duende of Astor Piazzolla's neuvo tango.
MÚSICA AHORA
Explore the compositions of some of Latin America's most respected modernist masters, Alberto Ginastera and Heitor Villa Lobos, together with new works by rising stars of Latin heritage commissioned specifically for Quinteto Latino.
